DIY : Oversize Top with Gathered Sleeves 1 Piece Pattern !
I have this over supply of linen fabric from my fabric hoarding sickness. It was time to do something with them ! I tested the brown linen with a self drafted pattern . It’s a very simple pattern. I wanted the sleeves to go past my elbow and everything very loose fitting.
This is how it turned out :
I use what I learned from the 1 Piece Pattern Book ( see the book in this post) and cut out the fabric ( both the front , back, sleeves, waistband ) in one continuous piece. This makes it a breeze to make. And because I am lazy All-For-Efficiency, I also found a way to easily trace out the collar piece 🙂
The video tutorial is below. It is quite meaty cuz it shows the whole process, like how to lay the paper pattern and cut out the fabric all in one piece. There’s also a how to make French seams, bias tape from scratch, gathering sleeves included.
