Double Tote Bag with Sides and Zipper Pocket
I am amused by the construction of this bag so I made another one. This time adding some volume to hold more things and also a middle panel zipper pocket. It is basically a tube, with the bags’ opening on opposite ends and the bag’s bottom in the center :

The bag can be made from 1 meter each lining and main fabric. The facing and handles are made from the main fabric. You need an 8″ zipper, and optional webbings to make a key chain strap. Since all the patterns are in rectangles, you can cut out a full panel ( i.e. main fabric : 96 cm L x 106 cm W ). Then cut them down to the smaller pattern pieces. I like to chop them down by the width first , then cut the smaller pieces.

I’ve also broke down the measurements for the width of the bag. If you want to make a different width, you can play around with the numbers. On the “wider” body pc, the actual width = 30 cm, 5 is the sides of the bag, and 1 is the seam allowance. For example, if you want your bag to be 36 cm, replace all the 30 cm with 36 cm and re-calculate the width. If you want a longer/shorter bag, play with the number 76.
