Bangkok Sight-seeing Guide : Kids-Friendly Bike Route 1
I thought I do something different on my blog so here is one of my kids’ favorite ride of the time being. It’s safe as almost the entire route is on a bicycle lane that is protected from motorcycles.
*update Oct 2014: The bike rental is no longer in service. The booth was taken apart, ironically, on Car Free Day.You can rent a free bicycle ( Bangkok Smile Bikes ) underneath the Memorial Bridge. That will be the green bridge underneath :
The bicycle stall is on the Thonburi side ( across the river from the Flower Market ” Pak Klong Talad ” ) There are only one size bikes with a basket in front. The trip will take up about 1 hour , granted you visit all the places of interest. Click the link below for more details as I can’t embed google engines map into my blog 😦 . To rent the bikes , you need to give them some ID, photocopies are okay.
Click here for link plus details to this map in Google Maps Engine.
The highlight for my kid was feeding the stray cats that resides in the Wat Kanlaya Temple. If you are doing this trip remember to bring wet wipes !
If you like cycling in Bangkok, come back for more routes ! Or even better, share your favorite biking route !
How’s Bangkok now? Is is safe for tourist? I’m planning a trip to Bangkok and also Hua Xing – Chocolate ville and Santorini Park… have you been there… how’s was it?
There’s going to be a big demostration this Monday, so traffic will be horrible. Stick to the trains when you are in Bangkok..Hua Hin is a nice place, there’s a retro style market called “Pluern Warnh” and the night market at Cicada is pretty good. I’ve been to Santorini a while back. Lots of photo opps there. The rides are a bit pricey for us and I heard they have a new waterpark. Nearby, there’s a place called Sheepland, my kids love this place. Haven’t been to the Chocolate ville,so don’t know about that.
If you have any questions just ask, be glad to help you 🙂
The Sheepland I mentioned above is called “Swiss Sheep Farm ” You can check out some photos on their website : swisssheepfarm.com
