DIY : Making an Alphorn Bag

We have a friend/musician who owns an alphorn and wants to custom make a bag. This is what the horn looks like … very long !

He can play songs on it ! We can too , war cries are a kind of song, aren’t they ?

The horn can be taken apart , 3 long pcs + 1 mouthpiece.

So, this is the top half pattern of the bag. I did some research, strangely the zipper is located on the long side, which is also the bottom side when carried by the handles. I’m afraid the zippers won’t hold , so I will add some straps to hold the horn in place.

This is what the bag looks like so far. There is an insert to slot in 2 pcs of the alphorn so they won’t clank around. The bag is made with recycled denims sewn onto felt. If possible , all the handles will be made from waistbands to give it an unified look.
