Things I’ve made on 22 Pin Circular Knitting Machine with Fluffy Eyelash Yarn

I did a deep dive learning how to knit on circular knitting machines and came back up with these projects. What amazes me is not only the speed in knitting a panel but also how much less waste there is in completing a project. With yarn , I can knit just the amount needed and if a mistake is made, I can just frog them and return it back to a yarn ball.

The projects below are mostly bags. Almost all the bags are lined. If there is a bag strap involved, the strap holder is sewn onto the lining to lessen stretching out of the yarn. To get a larger knitted piece, I use 3 ply chunky weight eyelash yarn and knit in the flat panel mode to create rectangles.

I will update any new projects in this post, feel free to save it for reference !

  • Lined Drawstring Bag  : A small size, soft, and squarish drawstring bag

I later added felted eyes to give it character 🙂

  • Laptop Sleeve : This one have a flap and magnetic closure .
  • Fold over Flap handbag : I tried to shape the flap in this video by increasing the stitches. I couldn’t get it to knit symmetrically tho
  • Small Drawstring Pouches ( 5” squares ) : These are quick to make and fun to customize. The batch in the video tutorial below are not lined.

I did another batch where it is lined with cotton fabric. They have a thicker opening when the drawstring is drawn.

  • Small Knitted Phone Pouch: I have mixed feelings with this tubular one. If I were to re-do it, I will not make the fold over, extra pocket. The pouch came out quite thick, so this one is a candidate for frogging.
  • Origami 3 Squares Bag : This one calls for precision. The knitted piece must exactly fit 3 squares ! I love this one, very chic with the leather strap holder and the chains. I gave myself several pats on my shoulders. Good job, saltydiy 🙂
  • Mini pot holder for microwave : Snow clad mountain pot holders ! This was done on a toy knitting machine.

Flat panel Doughnuts : These are yummy creations that you can use as bag charms, wrist pillows, or just hang them up as decoration

  • 11 pin gentle stretch headband : This is knitted with just half the pins . What we do is open up the knitting machine and remove all the alternate pins. This was in my machine’s instruction manual. It’s an option for knitting extra bulky yarn by creating a wider space between the pins. With the eyelash yarn, the finished piece came out extra soft and light weight. The width was perfect for making headbands and bag handles.

Here is how to remove the pins :
